Situated on The River Thames

Situated on The River Thames in between Southend On Sea and London you will find The Thamesview Camping Site. We are located on the edge of East Tilbury Village adjacent to the iconic Coal House Fort on one side and the Essex Wildlife Trust Thameside Nature Discovery Park on the other.

With miles of coastal path to explore by foot or cycle you are sure to find an adventure on your visit.
There are plenty of public footpaths marked for you to explore. You could walk down to the ferry where the Emperor Claudius crossed in pursuit of the Britons, and take a day trip to Kent.
There are lots of local activities to keep you busy including fishing on the Thames, cycling, bird watching, even whale watching has taken place on the sea wall right on the Thames view Camping site. For a few years Benny the Beluga has been seen swimming in the Thames.

Environmentally friendly

  • Environmentally friendly, members only, family campsite for guests who want to enjoy the great outdoors without the noise. We don’t allow loud music and would encourage our guests to be mindful of the countryside and other guests. We do allow 1 pet dog per pitch on a leash, bearing in mind you are in the midst of a working cattle farm. Dogs not controlled will not be tolerated by the farmers so enjoy your stay and keep your dog safe with you. Guests are expected to leave the site and countryside as if you was never there, leaving it undiscovered for the next explorer.
  • About Thamesview-camping, When small, quiet campsites in great locations, that allow campfires and are gentle on the environment are what you are looking for, then Thamesview Camping is for you! We’ve put ‘green’ at the forefront of camping.
  • Our Site Allow Campfires And Encourage Safe Practices And Best Of All – Cooking On The Campfire. Locally Sourced Firewood With A Virtually Zero Carbon Impact. The Greener camping club ’Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member enrolment. In 2019 alone, over 5,300 trees were planted by  The Greener Camping Club campsites. In this small way, our hope is that the trees go some way to offsetting some of the inevitable environmental impact of even the greenest of holidays. The trees are funded from your £12 membership fee.

Thamesview Camping staff are never far away and are more than willing to help and make your stay an enjoyable one. If you need help or ideas of things to do we have a local wildlife guide who is more than happy to point you in the right direction.
